With technology evolving on a day by day basis, it’s hard to keep up with the latest trends and understanding how or if the technology thats currently available will work in your home. You can either keep adding and updating your existing technology, or, if you are in the position of building a new build home or renovating your current home, you can ‘future-proof’ your home from the start.
Think Smart Home from the outset
Architects are now working hand in hand with technology experts from the initial planning stage, meaning your home can be designed to not only support the latest technology from the outset but to also adapt as technology inevitably further evolves.
This was the case with a large seven storey townhouse close to Buckingham Palace in the heart of London. Element29 worked closely with the design team prior to construction, incorporating all the cabling infrastructure and distribution panels into the original plans. This included making sure the 250 Lutron controlled lighting circuits were positioned correctly throughout, as well as the automated blinds, privacy glass and sliding doors. Crestron touch screens throughout the property provide control of the audio visual, heating ventilation and air conditioning, access control, lights, blinds and CCTV systems.
The house is also cabled to provide 4K video distribution as well as full wired and wireless data coverage throughout. And to top it off, 20 pairs of Amina invisible speakers are hidden in the ceilings throughout the property and a 7.2 surround sound system is installed in the home cinema. All of which are subtly hidden behind the scenes within the fabric of the house.
If you are thinking of either redesigning your home from scratch, or renovating, ensure your architect is liaising with a home automation expert at the design stage of your project. At Element29, we offer turn key solutions in the design and installation of audio visual and smart home technology systems. We extract the specific elements of home technology systems required by our clients and turn these into a simple integrated solution that is easy to use.
You are guaranteed to be in safe hands with Element29’s enthusiastic team of audio visual and technology specialists, and in 2014, we were proud to become a certified member of CEDIA (Cedia, the Custom Electrical Design and Installation Association).
