Home Cinema Installation Project Overview

As technology advances as quickly as it does, we often find many people don’t always know what is possible in the home.  We will be looking at showcasing some of our projects in our blog or feel free to go to our projects section on the website.  This week we are showcasing what we did in The Thames Riverside Home.

Client Brief

The client was looking for a total media solution for their home. We were able to use a lot of the existing equipment they already had and renovation work meant we could re-cable and add a structure to support existing and build in new technology to their home. Our brief was to install Sonos though out the home, add a media solution for the house, look at a heating solution and of course a home cinema design and install.

Summary

AV Enclosure

Centralising all media. Under the stairs, our Sonos installers fitted an AV Rack, 2 sky boxes, a blu Ray player and an Apple TV. These fed into a 4K / UHD HDMI video matrix which in turn connected to the 5 televisions around the house.  This meant all media was available to the TVs around anywhere in the house. All controllable from an RTi control system – which enables control from devices such as smart phones and tablets.

9 Zones of Sonos Installed and Set up

As the family were already keen on Sonos we carried on the setup through out the house. Installing and enabling Sonos for 9 zones of independent music streams all controllable by the Sonos app on tablets or Smart phones.

Smart Heating System

Using the Heatmiser system the family can now customise each heating area from their phones or tablets. It is also equipped with geolocation so the heating can be set to come on when the phones gets to within 3 miles of their home. The system can also be set manually.

The Cinema Room

The 84 inch curved UHD / 4K screen made a fitting centre piece to the cinema room. But what is a screen with out amazing sound. So reusing the Canton speakers we added in some Bowers & Wilkins in ceiling speakers and brought it all together to create a 5.1 surround sound system. The only decent thing left to do was suggest and install some starry sky LED lights controlled by Rako – which means they can be controlled by remote control from your phone.
