Soho Restaurant Multi Channel Audio Distribution System
Recently, we were asked to provide a multi channel audio distribution system for the award-winning Tamarind Kitchen in London’s Wardour Street in Soho. Tamarind Kitchen is a feast for the eyes, as well as the tastebuds and they needed a solution that would not only be in-keeping with the soulful, sensory cuisine on offer, but would also subtly work alongside the quietly luxurious interior created by the interior designer.
At the intersection of culinary delight and understated luxury, our audio distribution system enhances the overall ambiance of Tamarind Kitchen.
Audio Distribution System Project Overview
We were asked to install a projector, concealed in the ceiling to provide visual effects on the wall joining the ground and lower ground floors. Alongside this, we installed a Sonos multi room audio system combined with the Rotel audio amplifier and Bowers & Wilkins speakers.
The entire system could then be centrally controlled via the Sonos application. Subtlety was key in this design, as there couldn’t be anything that would look too bulky or obvious that would detract away from the surroundings.
The sound system needed to be enough, but not over-bearing for the customers, with a clear, crisp sound, and the Rotel amplifiers working hand in hand with the Bowers & Wilkins speakers were the obvious choice. Using the custom built Control4 automation system brings the power, performance and reliability to deliver the best entertainment over one, robust platform.
The launch was a great success, and the restaurant has had glowing reviews since it opened its doors on 6th April this year. We are very proud to be associated with such a prestigious and long running collection of restaurants.
