Home Automation And Cinema Belgravia: It’s All In The Planning

If you decide to renovate your home, nowadays the planning stage has to be more than just bricks and mortar, and where the odd plug socket goes. At Element 29, we work closely with architects to ensure that the technical heart of the house can be integrated into the fabric of the building and where required, without being seen.

For this client in particular, we undertook a home automation and cinema Belgravia design project. We designed and installed a home automation system with a cabling infrastructure ensuring their house was as ‘future-proof’ as it can be.

Home Automation System

Our clients had requested that their home automation and cinema Belgravia project to be discrete and easy to use home automation system.  They also had an audio system in their previous property which they liked as they were familiar with its set up, so naturally were hesitant about trying new products for the  fear of not being able to use them.

With this in mind, our home automation London team spent time outlining and demonstrating the systems to the client prior to installation, so they were aware of how it all worked. Through working closely with the architect, we were able to limit the amount of physical space the hardware took up.

Audio System

For the audio system, we installed two home audio systems. Our Bowers & Wilkins installation team installed Bowers & Wilkins in ceiling speakers powered by a Sonos multi room audio system, meaning you could listen to your favourite music in whatever room you chose to be in.

The dedicated cinema room with 5.1 surround sound system and large scale TV really did make you want to reach for the popcorn and sit back ready to watch the next blockbuster.

Lighting Control System

Our Lutron installation team installed a Lutron lighting control system throughout the house. We chose a Lutron system because not only does it offer superior light control while saving you energy, but it also allows you to dim single or multiple sets of lights at the touch of a button, giving you enhanced comfort and convenience.

Heating System

Adding in Heatmiser to control the heating system ensured every room in the house was heated to the perfect temperature. With the addition of a door entry and data network (including WiFi) systems and the extensive cabling infrastructure installed, we were happy to recommend a Control4 system to give control of this technology from one controller or smart phone/tablet app.

With one touch, you can dim the lights, play music, turn up the heat, lock the doors and arm the security system, all without having to get out of your chair. You also have the added bonus of being able to check in on your home from your smartphone, no matter where you are in the world, and by pressing a “Goodnight” button your house will be put to sleep, turning off all lights and locking all doors. With Control4, your options are virtually limitless.
