Our History
After a combined professional career of over 20 years in the home automation industry, Andrew and Tom co-established Element 29 in 2012 (see below). Having spent many years designing, specifying, managing, installing, programming and commissioning hundreds of systems for a large residential installer, Andrew and Tom decided to use the wealth of knowledge and experience they had gained to deliver quality, bespoke, innovative solutions for their own clients.
Element 29 has grown steadily over the past 8 years by way of its high quality work and growing reputation. It has a core team of eight working from its south London office, designing and installing systems in large high end residential properties and commercial spaces throughout the UK and Europe.
Our Team
Andrew Perkins
Director
Andrew is Projects Director and co-founded Element 29 in 2012. Prior to this he had 12 years experience working within the AV and home automation industry. His early career was spent as an Engineer with a large London based installer and over subsequent years he progressed, ultimately becoming a senior Project Manager with responsibility for large contract teams delivering high end residential installations of £1M+ in project value throughout the UK and Europe. He has a vast experience in liaising with architects, interior designers and construction management, and has a reputation for ensuring that projects are delivered with the highest quality, on time and within budget.
Tom Williamson
Director
Tom is Operations Director and co-founded Element 29 in 2012. He has over 16 years experience working within the AV and home automation industry. Following experience gained initially in operational management in the retail sector, Tom changed career and trained as an Engineer, and then became a Senior Engineer with a large, established London based installer. He ultimately became Operations Manager responsible for installation teams working on prestigious high end residential projects throughout the UK and Europe. Tom has extensive experience in managing high net worth client relationships, project management, technical sales, project scheduling, resource delivery, installation aftercare and on-going system maintenance.
Matt Cole
Installation Engineer
Matt is a highly qualified and experienced audio visual installation engineer. After starting his career in broadcast systems, Matt transferred his skills for the residential audio visual market. He has a wide ranging and extensive knowledge base which spans audio visual, data network and control systems.
Patrick Major
Installation Engineer
Patrick's enthusiasm for pro audio has stood him in good stead for the start of his career in audio visual installation. After combining his audio and technology skills with a position in the education sector, Patrick joined Element 29 in 2016 as an installation engineer. His eagerness to learn and shape his all round skills have seen him develop into a solid engineer in a short space of time.
Paresh Garara
Installation Engineer
Paresh joined the team in August 2018 as an experienced audio visual installation engineer. Having worked in the AV industry for over 10 years now, Paresh is technically proficient, with an expansive knowledge base and skill set.
Tom Neely
Project & Account Manager
Tom had over 10 years experience in the AV and home automation industry prior to joining Element 29. Over this period he has held various positions from an onsite installation engineer, through to a commissioning engineer and finally a project management role delivering projects both inside and outside the U.K. Tom joined Element 29 in 2019 as a Project & Account Manager bringing his vast experience and his affable nature, into a client management role.
Maimun Rahman
Installation Engineer
Initially joining the team in a junior engineering capacity, Maimun has worked hard to gain the technical knowledge required to be an installation engineer. His hard working and helpful nature makes him a great support to the senior engineering team and is constantly developing his own engineering skills on a daily basis.
Mike Atterbury
Installation Engineer
With over six years of engineering experience at one of London's most established residential custom installation companies, Mike, with his cheerful, and can-do attitude, was a welcome addition to the Element 29 team in 2021. Outside of work he has a keen interest in live music production, making him perfectly suited to both residential and commercial installations.
Matt Holland
Service and Procurement Coordinator
With over 10 years experience at a large satellite distribution equipment manufacturer and distributor, Matt gained skills in technical sales, stock management and customer service. He joined Element 29 in 2018, originally as an engineer, but is now responsible for the running of our busy service and maintenance department and managing the company's stock and procurement requirements.
What our clients say
For the record I would say that element 29 have recently completed two projects with us both for high net worth clients for cinema rooms that were created. You have also assisted on the removal , reinstatement and upgrading another clients property, the client a prominent CEO was very impressed with your knowledge, straight talking and recommendations.
Element 29 are currently working with us on two large basement projects in Kingswood and Walton, both damaged by water ingress during the floods. The service levels again have been great, with great care taken to enable the clients to retain the coms rooms and services, and finding a solution to work around construction restraints.
Technical and high end market knowledge is great and very happy to help. All round good egg, and I am happy to recommend to future potential clients.

We recently looked to upgrade the entertainment and computer systems in our home. We are novices in this area so called Tom at Element 29 for advice and guidance.
Given the cabling constraints within our home, Element 29 still managed to deliver a fully integrated, multi room audio and video system in the all areas we required, without compromising quality of performance or functionality. They also managed to realise this alongside our requirement for fast and reliable internet connectivity throughout our home, allowing our family to efficiently stream online content, on multiple systems, at any one time.
